i've tried to put artist comments on my work, and it has been recommended to me to do such, but i simply just can't do it. an art teacher of mine once told me that when you have pieces up in a gallery, you can't stand there next to them and explain what they mean to each person who views them. your pieces just have to work. i read in my aesthics book in high school that a person spends 30 seconds on each piece of work when browsing a gallery, if something catches their eye then they spend a longer time than that. so when i put two and two together, your piece has no choice but to work. you can't be with it and hold it's hand, talk to people t
